Bidirectional Association Between Psoriatic Diseases and Uveitis
21 Apr 2025 • An analysis involving over 9.6 million participants sheds new light on the bidirectional link between psoriatic diseases and uveitis.
Key Findings:
- Researchers found that individuals with psoriatic disease face a significantly elevated risk of developing uveitis (OR: 2.14), with the association being strongest in those with psoriatic arthritis (OR: 3.13).
- Psoriasis without arthritis did not show a significant association (OR: 1.40).
- Uveitis was also linked to increased odds of developing psoriatic disease (OR: 2.56), notably both psoriasis (OR: 1.99) and psoriatic arthritis (OR: 3.53).
