High TyG Index Signals Greater Cardiac Risk Post-Stenting in Hypertriglyceridemic Patients
15 Apr 2025 • The triglyceride-glucose (TyG) index is identified as a potent predictor of cardiovascular risk in patients with hypertriglyceridemia undergoing drug-eluting stent percutaneous coronary intervention (DES-PCI).
Key Findings:
- A TyG index above 9.19 significantly elevated the risk of major adverse cardiac and cerebrovascular events (MACCE), with a hazard ratio (HR) of 2.23.
- High TyG values also correlated with increased rates of MACE (HR 2.38), repeat revascularization (HR 2.05), and all-cause death (HR 3.31).
- Cox regression confirmed the TyG index as an independent MACCE predictor (HR 1.53).
