Type 2 Diabetes Patients with Constipation Face Greater Mortality Risk
26 Dec 2024 • Constipation significantly raises the risk of all-cause mortality in people with type 2 diabetes, claimed a new study.
Tracking 1,339 T2DM patients for a median of 10.75 years, researchers found that those with constipation had a 50% higher risk of death compared to those without. Further analyses demonstrated a significantly lower survival probability in patients with constipation.
These findings suggest that constipation management may be an important consideration in improving long-term outcomes for individuals with T2DM.
