11 Mar 2025 • A novel pulsed-field ablation (PFA) system using a variable-diameter circular catheter demonstrated strong long-term outcomes for paroxysmal atrial fibrillation (AF).

In a multicentre study, 87.7% of patients remained free from arrhythmia at 12 months, with a low complication rate (0.6%). Notably, over two-thirds of procedures were performed under conscious sedation, and fluoroscopy was avoided in 40.9% of cases.

With high efficacy and minimal risks, this PFA approach could enhance AF management while reducing reliance on fluoroscopy and deep sedation.
