Combined MRI and CDUS Approach Elevates Detection of Thyroid Cancer Lymph Node Metastasis
21 Mar 2025 • A combined approach using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and color Doppler ultrasound (CDUS) blood flow parameters has proven highly effective in detecting cervical lymph node metastasis in thyroid cancer, especially for occult metastases.
MRI + CDUS demonstrated 94.9% sensitivity, surpassing MRI (78.6%) and CDUS (86.7%) alone. The dual-modality method detected over half of the occult metastasis missed by either MRI or CDUS, highlighting its superior diagnostic performance for early lymph node metastasis and preoperative staging.
