26 Aug 2024 • Andhra Pradesh MedTech Zone, a government of Andhra Pradesh’s research body, in partnership with Transasia Diagnostics on Saturday announced the development of India’s first indigenous RT-PCR kit to diagnose MPox.

The kit has achieved rigorous validation from the Indian Council for Medical Research (ICMR) and received emergency authorization from the Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation (CDSCO), under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

The ErbaMDx MonkeyPox RT-PCR kit delivers 97.5 per cent sensitivity and 100 per cent specificity, with results available in less than an hour.
