Pancreatic Cancer Risk Declines with Time after H. pylori Eradication
18 Dec 2025 • New data showed that pancreatic cancer risk linked to Helicobacter pylori declines after eradication therapy.
In more than 661,000 treated adults followed for up to 24 years, risk was modestly higher in the first 1–5 years post-treatment (SIR 1.14) but normalized by 6–10 years (SIR 0.99) and remained neutral through 11–24 years (SIR 1.00).
Findings reassure that H. pylori eradication does not confer sustained pancreatic cancer risk and support early treatment.
