Persistently uncontrolled hypertension may be driven by excess aldosterone activity, making recognition of aldosterone-mediated hypertension increasingly important in clinical practice. Identifying the underlying mechanism can help clinicians optimise treatment and improve blood pressure control. In this session, Dr. Anand Vaidya will discuss the role of aldosterone in persistent hypertension and the emerging role of Aldosterone Synthase Inhibitors (ASIs). The session will focus on identifying appropriate patients, understanding the therapeutic rationale, and exploring how emerging treatment approaches may help improve blood pressure control.
