Atopic dermatitis is the most common chronic inflammatory skin disease and its prevalence has increased two to three-fold in recent decades. Atopic dermatitis is divided into three subsets based on the age of onset: Early-onset atopic dermatitis (most common in children), Late-onset atopic dermatitis (seen after puberty), and Senile onset atopic dermatitis (individuals over 60 years).
