About this session
The Review of Current Practices (RCP) on venous thromboembolism (VTE) kicks off with a focused and clinically rich Day 1, chaired by Lt Gen (Dr.) Velu Nair (Retd.). Designed for busy clinicians, the evening features 3 expert-led sessions that lay the foundation for evidence-based VTE management.
The agenda begins with an overview of contemporary approaches, followed by a discussion of thromboprophylaxis and risk stratification, emphasizing translation of evidence into real-world clinical decision-making. This is complemented by a session on catheter-related thrombosis, bringing in interventional and surgical perspectives.
The day culminates in an in-depth panel discussion, focusing on personalizing VTE management in complex “grey zone” populations, including obesity, bleeding risk, renal dysfunction, and young adults.
With interactive elements such as live polls, audience Q&A, and case-based insights, Day 1 sets the stage for a practical, nuanced understanding of VTE management. Participants will also engage through pre–post assessments, with certificates awarded upon completion.
