About this session
Day 2 of the Review of Current Practices (RCP) on venous thromboembolism (VTE) builds on foundational concepts with a sharper focus on high-risk scenarios and evolving treatment paradigms. Chaired by Lt Gen (Dr.) Velu Nair (Retd.), the day features 4 expert-led sessions designed to refine clinical decision-making.
The evening begins with a recap of key Day 1 insights, followed by a keynote by Dr. Velu Nair on cancer-associated thrombosis, addressing treatment complexities in high-risk patients. Then presents emerging evidence in anticoagulation, with insights from the COBRRA trial and its clinical implications.
Subsequent sessions include rationalizing the use of DOACs, LMWH, and oral anticoagulants, and a discussion on selecting between interventional and medical management strategies in VTE.
The program concludes with closing remarks and key takeaways, reinforcing practical application. As with Day 1, the format remains highly interactive with live polls, audience engagement, and knowledge assessments, ensuring meaningful learning outcomes for participants.
