ABOUT THIS SESSION
Humans are warm-blooded animals. We maintain core body temperature within the range of 1 or 2 degrees despite large fluctuations in external temperatures. The internal temperature range must be maintained for the body to function normally. The spectrum of heat-related illnesses ranges from the local effects of heat in the form of Sunburn and Heat rash to systemic effects of heat such as Heat Cramps, Heat exhaustion, and Heat Stroke. Heat Stroke can be Classic or Exertion-related. Heat Stroke is a medical emergency and can be life-threatening if not treated in time. Dr. Desai will discuss the clinical presentation, management, and preventive aspects of Heat-related illnesses. Let us all be prepared this summer for the spectrum of disorders caused by Heat. Register yourself, not to miss the session.
