13 Mar 2024 • Hydrogel dressings are more effective in treating DFU compared with conventional dressings, as per recent research findings.

A study comparing conventional dressings to hydrogel dressings for the treatment of diabetic foot ulcers noted that patients using hydrogel dressings experienced a remarkable improvement in healing rates (OR 4.09), reduction in healing time, enhanced granulation formation & accelerated epithelial formation.

Hydrogel dressings also demonstrated a significant decrease in the incidence of bacterial infection (OR 0.10).
