Antioxidant Vitamins and Carotenoids Slash COPD Risk in Adults Over 40
13 Dec 2023 • A recent study involving 3487 adults aged 40 and above has underscored the potential preventive role of antioxidant vitamins and carotenoids in COPD development.
- The findings revealed a compelling association between higher serum levels of vitamin C, vitamin E, α-carotene, trans-β-carotene, and cis-β-carotene, and a significant reduction (up to 54%) in COPD risk.
- No significant correlation was found for serum vitamin D levels.
