Radiation-Free 3D Spine Scanner Shows High Accuracy for Scoliosis Assessment
28 Feb 2025 • A new portable, radiation-free three-dimensional spine sensing system (3D-SSS) has demonstrated excellent accuracy and reproducibility in scoliosis assessment, offering a safer alternative to traditional imaging.
The system achieved a high diagnostic performance (AUC = 0.953), with sensitivity and specificity of 87.8% and 92.1%, respectively.
These findings highlight three-dimensional spine sensing system as a promising tool for scoliosis screening and monitoring, reducing radiation exposure while maintaining diagnostic precision.
