Landmark Study Reveals Link Between Severe Traumatic Brain Injury and Elevated Brain Cancer Risk
17 Feb 2024 • In a large study involving over 1.9 million war veterans, researchers found that moderate or severe traumatic brain injury (TBI) and penetrating TBI were associated with a higher risk of subsequent brain cancer development.
The study, spanning from October 2004 to September 2019, revealed that mild TBI, while prevalent, did not show a significant association with later brain cancer diagnoses.
