- Researchers in the Asian Eye Epidemiology Consortium have unveiled a significant association between chronic kidney disease & late-stage age-related macular degeneration (AMD).
- The study identified a 1.46-fold higher odds of late AMD in individuals with CKD and a 1.12-fold increased risk for each 10-unit decrease in eGFR.
These findings emphasize the importance of regular ocular examinations for individuals with CKD.
