India records less than 100 COVID-19 cases in a day

19 Jan 2023 • Published on the 18th of January, 2023 For the first time in nearly three years- since the pandemic numbers first started rising in March of 2020- India reported less than 100 new COVID-19 cases on Monday, as infections continue to drop to fresh lows. Also a reason to cheer, no COVID deaths were reported for four days at a stretch, again a new first for India since the March of 2020. India had first reported more than 100 cases in a day on 27th March, 2020, and daily tally hadn’t fallen to double digits since then (as per TOI’s database). Cases have been steadily falling in India despite the massive wave in China, and consequent fears of fresh surge in the country. Source: Times of India| Read full story
