5 Dec 2023 • The 2024 report from the Global Initiative for Chronic Obstructive Lung Disease (GOLD) for the diagnosis, management, and prevention of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) has been published.

• The report includes enhanced details on PRISm (preserved ratio but impaired spirometry), hyperinflation, pre-bronchodilator spirometry, targeted COPD screening strategies, blood eosinophil count in the initial assessment, coverage of interstitial lung abnormalities, revised smoking cessation guidance including pharmacotherapies, updated vaccination recommendations and expanded content on managing inhaled therapy.
