• Early extremity fixation may be a viable option for individuals with traumatic brain injury (TBI), especially those with mild head injuries.
• A study found no significant differences in unfavorable functional outcomes at 6 months between those who underwent early fixation (within 24hrs) vs. late fixation (OR, 1.12).
• For patients with mild TBI, the OR was 0.71, and for those with moderate to severe TBI, it was 1.08.
