19 Dec 2023 • Recent research including 10,742 hospitalized adults, highlighted a significant correlation between daily toothbrushing and lowered rates of hospital-acquired pneumonia (HAP).

This association was particularly noteworthy in patients undergoing invasive mechanical ventilation, leading to decreased ICU mortality, shorter mechanical ventilation durations, and reduced lengths of stay in the ICU.

These findings underscore the importance of regular oral care in improving patient outcomes during hospitalization.
