Several late-breaking clinical trial sessions and hundreds of scientific abstracts including STEP HFpEF, CASTLE-HTx and PARAGON-HF, presented some novel findings.

Thats not all, in an unprecedented step, the previously separate guidelines for STEMI and NSTEMI were combined into a single guideline which addresses nuances in various aspects of the management of ACS.

Here's a sneak peak at the updated clinical guidelines🩺:

• HF : Use of SGLT2 inhibitor in HFmrEF and HFpEF to reduce risk of hospitalisation or CV death

• ACS : Use of DAPT for 12 months after CABG and tailoring glucose lowering therapies according to comorbidities

• Cardiomyopathies: Genetic testing is essential since it can influence risk stratification and management

• DM : Use of the SCORE 2 - Diabetes, a novel score to estimate the 10-year risk of MI and stroke in patients with T2DM.

• Endocarditis : Emphasis on algorithms for the diagnosis and management of NVE, PVE, and CIED- associated IE
