C-peptide Index at 2 Hours Post-Meal Predicts Insulin Therapy Withdrawal in Type 2 Diabetes Patients
24 Apr 2024 • Recent findings highlighted the clinical utility of CPI at 2 hours post-meal as a predictor of endogenous insulin secretory capacity and withdrawal from insulin therapy in patients with type 2 diabetes.
The study which divided patients into withdrawal and non-withdrawal groups, revealed that CPI at 2 hours post-meal was significantly higher in the withdrawal group vs. the non-withdrawal group, suggesting its potential as an independent predictor of insulin therapy withdrawal.
Interestingly, CPI at 2 hours post-meal outperformed fasting CPI in prediction accuracy.
