Zika Virus Infects Six People Including Two Pregnant Women in Pune
2 Jul 2024 • The first case of Zika virus in Pune, India was identified in a 46-year-old doctor, and later in his 15-year-old daughter. By July 1st, a total of six cases had been reported in the city, including two pregnant women.
Fortunately, all patients are currently stable and asymptomatic. Responding to the increase in cases, the Pune Municipal Corporation's health department has initiated preventive measures such as fogging, fumigation, and a surveillance campaign to curb mosquito breeding.
