Hypertension - A Risk Factor for Osteoporosis?

4 Jun 2024 • In a recent study involving over 37,000 participants, hypertension was independently associated with osteoporosis in the general population.

Results showed that participants with osteoporosis had a higher prevalence of hypertension compared to those without osteoporosis, and vice versa.

Further analysis revealed that the associations between hypertension and osteoporosis were significant in the younger than 60 years, male sex, diabetes subgroup and hypercholesterolemia subgroup.
