H. pylori Elevates Dyslipidemia Risk in Diabetes Patients
27 Jul 2024 • H. pylori infection was linked to a 13% increased risk of dyslipidemia in individuals with diabetes (odds ratio = 1.13). This risk was not significant in non-diabetics.
- Over follow-up, those with persistent H. pylori infections had a higher incidence of dyslipidemia (p = 0.006) and showed less improvement compared to those who tested negative for H. pylori or had new infections (p = 0.038).
These findings suggest that effectively treating H. pylori in diabetics could significantly improve lipid profiles and reduce dyslipidemia risk.
